Heirs property is the term often used to refer to land that individual members of a family jointly own that is the result of a long-deceased ancestor who died intestate, or without a will. The title to heirs property must be "quieted" in order for the rightful heirs of the deceased to hold valid legal title to the property. This requires the assistance of an attorney to file a suit to quiet the title to the property, and possibly a partition action to divide the property among the living family members. We can assist you with these matters.
